Club History

In 2008, Southern Alliance was created as a volleyball club. Our vision was to offer a local option to families on the South Shore, provide an opportunity for players to start the game at an earlier age and to give players that wanted more repetitions an opportunity to get them. Overall, we really want to strengthen programs in our area and help increase the level of play so that teams play better matches during the Fall season.

Our club program began with 37 players for 4 teams in 2008. In 2012, there were 274 players for 24 teams. As you can see, our club has been growing and with that, we have been figuring out along the way how do we best handle that growth.

To date we have had numerous players from our club selected for the Globe, Herald & Ledger All Scholastic & All State teams. We've also had players go on to play in college.

Club Director

Al Mirabile. Girl’s varsity volleyball coach at Archbishop Williams for 8 seasons (2000 – 2007) & Marshfield for 4 seasons (2009 - 2012). Teams have accrued over 100 Varsity wins, 8 State Tournament berths and 2 league titles. I am a parent myself and both of my children are in the program and love playing the game of volleyball.
